In every painter’s life, the time eventually comes to do a self-portrait; mine came early.  I had a ‘selfie’ on my iPhone which I passed through a filter, from which I painted my Selfie Portrait (2017).  It is the most abstract of my paintings to-date; rich in color and broad representation.  Impressionism, replete in my face, increases as the eye moves away from the subject’s frontal lobes.
